Foursquare Mandamus is the 29th release in the renowned Exceptional Cask Selection (ECS) series from the Foursquare Distillery in Barbados. This limited-edition rum showcases the distillery’s signature craftsmanship, transparency, and commitment to traditional rum-making.
Mandamus is a 16-year-old rum, initially aged for 10 years in ex-bourbon casks, followed by an additional 6 years in ex-port casks. Bottled at a robust 57% ABV, it is released without chill filtration, without added sugar, and without colouring.
Tasting Notes
- Nose: Rich and expressive, with notes of dark red fruits, raisins, molasses, toasted oak, vanilla, and subtle port wine sweetness.
- Palate: Full-bodied and powerful, revealing layers of dried fruits, caramel, cocoa, spice, and oak, beautifully balanced by the influence of the port casks.
- Finish: Long, warm, and complex, with lingering notes of fruit, spice, and elegant wood tannins.
